Opened its doors last March 26 in the historic seat of the museum complex of Santa Maria della Scala, an exhibition of exceptional prestige. "FromJacopo della Quercia to Donatello. The arts in Siena in early Renaissance".

Until July 10 you can see about three hundred masterpieces of Italian art, including a twenty polyptychs rebuilt for the occasion, 22 renovations and 15 loans from private collections and famous museums, a real asset for a fascinating journey to discovery of the incredible artistic masterpieces of one of the richest seasons in the history of Siena and Italy in general, the early Renaissance.

In particular the first decades of the fifteenth century found the right way to be celebrated, thanks to a clever exhibition wisely divided into three different environments: one section is dedicated to Jacopo della Quercia (1371 ca.- 1438), Sienese sculptor who was prominent in the Gothic "international" European.

The other two areas are devoted to Sienese painting of the '400 and guest teachers such as Donatello and Lorenzo Ghiberti.

The exhibition did not take place only at the museum complex of Santa Maria della Scala, but ache for passing the Cathedral, the Crypt, the Baptistery, the Oratory of San Bernardino and the National Art Gallery, an operation which involves the best can offer a city that never ceases to amaze us.

Hours: every day including holidays: 10:30am to 7:30pm; Cathedral from Monday to Saturday: 10:30am to 8:00pm Sunday and holidays: 1:30pm to 6:30pm (the tours are suspended during the conduct of religious ceremonies), Diocesan Museum, Crypt, Baptistery 9.30am-8pm; Oratory of San Bernardino: 1.30am-7pm; Pinacoteca Nazionale di Siena: Monday 8:30am to 1:30pm. Tuesday to Saturday 8:15am to 7:15pm, Sunday and holidays 8:30am to 1:15pm.
