Sponsored by Community Library Intronati with the contribution of Fondazione Monte dei Paschi di Siena and the Tuscany Region, the exhibition "Architects in Siena. Testimonies of the Municipal Library in XV and XVIII Century", opened on 19 December, was prepared by the architect Leonardo Porciatti in the hall of the library in the historic path of Wisdom.
A fascinating journey into the architectural culture of Siena in the crucial centuries between the fifteenth and the eighteenth century. Thanks to relentless activity 'collecting research and recovery of parts considered more' important to document the luck Sienese art and culture, the collections of the Library currently has works of extraordinary interest from illuminated manuscripts, incunabula to, to printed texts, up to the drawings and engravings.
The exhibition, which is worth remembering, is free, is in progress until 12 April 2010.
Hours: Monday to Friday from and from 3:00pm to 6pm, Saturdays from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Closed Sundays.
